Controlling who can respond

By default anyone with the link can answer. When you need one voice per person, require sign-in, and optionally let people edit their answer.

# Open by default

Out of the box a voicer is open: anyone with the link or QR code can add a voice from their phone browser, with no account and no friction. This is what you want for the widest reach, a public stream, a story, a conference room full of strangers.

# Require sign-in Creator plan

A “Require sign-in to respond” checkbox explained as “Only signed-in One Voicer accounts can answer, one voice per account,” with a nested “Let respondents edit their voice” option.
Require sign-in to respond limits answers to signed-in One Voicer accounts, one voice per account. A nested option lets those respondents come back and edit their single answer.

Turn on Require sign-in to respond and only signed-in One Voicer accounts can answer, one voice per account. It is the simplest way to stop a single person from stuffing the ballot, and to make a vote or poll count once each. If the voicer also uses record and reset, that becomes one voice per account per period, so the same person can answer again each new day or week.

It trades a little reach, since people sign in first, for a lot of integrity, since each voice is one verified person.

# Let respondents edit their voice

When sign-in is required, you can also let respondents edit their voice. With it on, a person can return and update their single answer. With it off, a voice is final once submitted.

This is handy when you want people to refine a considered answer over time rather than fire and forget.

# Frequently asked

Do I need a paid plan to require sign-in?

Yes. Requiring verified, signed-in accounts is a Creator plan feature. On the free Starter plan, voicers are open to anyone with the link.

What does one voice per account mean?

With sign-in required, each account holds a single answer for that voicer. A second submission updates or replaces the first rather than adding another, so each person counts once. If the voicer uses record and reset, this applies per period: the same account can add a fresh voice each new day or week, but still only one within a period.

Can I switch sign-in on after going live?

Yes. You can change who can respond at any time. Voices already collected stay on the list.
